The bi-partisan bill would also help establish medical dispensaries
The Kansas House got a little greener with the bipartisan House Bill No. 2163, also known as the Veterans First Medical Cannabis Act, which was introduced yesterday by four representatives from northeast Kansas:
- Rep. Cindy Holscher – Democrat representing Olathe
- Rep. Eileen Horn – Democrat representing Lawrence
- Rep. Jim Karleskint – Republican representing Tonganoxie
- Jan Kessinger – Republican representing Overland Park
House Bill No. 2163 would provide registration for patients, while also providing the ability to get licenses to operate medical marijuana grows, distribution, or medical cannabis dispensaries. HB 2163 would also establish the cannabis regulatory commission and taxation of cannabis.
Medical cannabis is already legal in 33 states across the country including Kansas border states Oklahoma and Missouri.
