Mendiola served as deputy director of Colorado Department of Revenue’s Marijuana Enforcement Division
Dominique Mendiola has been named the state’s new director of marijuana coordination.
Mendiola, who has worked with the state Department of Revenue’s Marijuana Enforcement Division since 2014, serving as the deputy director, replaces Mark Bolton.
As director, Mendiola will manage marijuana policy issues for the state, including the interaction between Colorado and the federal government.
“Coordination is key in ensuring Colorado maintains an effective adult use legalized marijuana strategy,” Gov. John Hickenlooper said Thursday in announcing the appointment. “We are excited to welcome Dominque to the team. I look forward to her guidance as new issues emerge that require our attention.”
