Listen to the audio from the CRC’s meeting and Cat Packer’s update
On Thursday, Los Angeles’s Cannabis Regulation Commission held a special meeting open to the public yesterday at City Hall. The CRC special meeting was to gather a report from Executive Director of the Department of Cannabis Regulation, Cat Packer, regarding the status of cannabis licensing within the city and implementation of the Social Equity Program, as well as to get an update from the LAPD regarding enforcement actions against illegal cannabis operations throughout the largest adult use market in the world.
Cat Packer explained that they are currently on standby with the state in regards to Social Equity funding, and are currently looking for a Social Equity Meeting Manager. She also laid out in detail the entirety of her office’s actions to date, as well as an update on Phase I, II, and the upcoming Phase III application process.
The LAPD’s Cannabis Support Unit was on hand to also give an update on illegal cannabis commercial activity in the city. They outlined current numbers as well as made an statement that they were using platforms like WeedMaps to target unlicensed operations throughout Los Angeles.
