Michigan Issues First Cannabis Recall Stating Products Were Not Tested

This is the first recall since the state licensed businesses in August

For the first time since the state began regulating medical marijuana last year, a recall of infused products has been announced.

The marijuana-infused products, including transdermal patches and tinctures made by Choice Labs of Jackson and sold under the brand name of Mary’s, are not necessarily dangerous. They just got into the medical marijuana market without being tested.

“The products went through the tracking system and made it to dispensaries,” said David Harns, spokesman for the state Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. “The processor has the ability to retrieve the product, test it and put it back into the tracking system or destroy it.”

Products affected by the recall, which carry the Processor License number of PR-000005, are:

  • Mary’s Transdermal Indica Patches
  • The Remedy Tincture-Mary’s
  • Mary’s Transdermal Patches CBD
  • The Coltyn 1:1 Tincture
  • Mary’s Transdermal 1:1 Patches
